ABOUT MARCELLO HOMES

A LOVE FOR MODERN ARCHITECTURE BECAME A DIFFERENT WAY TO BUILD.

Marcello Homes grew from a lifelong connection to construction, years spent around modern architecture in Seattle, and a belief that Charlotte was ready for a more focused approach to modern homebuilding.

We specialize in modern and contemporary custom homes and major transformations of existing properties, combining architectural understanding, building expertise, and personal responsibility throughout the process.

What began as an appreciation for modern architecture became a company built around doing this work with greater intention.

MODERN ARCHITECTURE. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. A MORE THOUGHTFUL WAY TO BUILD.

01 / THE PEOPLE BEHIND MARCELLO HOMES

A FAMILY-OWNED COMPANY WITH A PERSONAL STANDARD.

Marcello Homes was founded by Viktor and Mariana Bogun.

The company is personally led by Viktor, whose background combines hands-on craftsmanship, residential renovation, and a career spent improving quality within complex systems. Mariana supports the company as co-owner, helping shape the business with a long-term perspective centered on family, responsibility, and trust.

Together, they are building Marcello Homes around a simple belief: taking on a family's home and trust means carrying that responsibility closely every day.

That standard shapes how the company communicates, makes decisions, and stays connected to the work.

RESPONSIBILITY STAYS CLOSE TO THE WORK.

02 / WHERE THE STORY BEGAN

CRAFTSMANSHIP CAME FIRST.

Long before Marcello Homes, construction was already part of Viktor's life.

After high school, he began installing tile alongside his father in Seattle. The work demanded patience, preparation, and precision. Lines had to remain consistent, transitions had to be resolved carefully, and the quality of the finished work depended heavily on what happened before installation began.

Those early years shaped a respect for craftsmanship that still guides the company today.

Viktor later established his own tile business and worked throughout Seattle's demanding residential market, where careful preparation and well-executed finishes were expected rather than optional.

As he began purchasing and renovating homes, his understanding expanded beyond one trade. He saw how materials, sequencing, construction decisions, and the work of different trades came together to shape the quality of the entire home.

The lesson stayed with him: quality is not created by the final detail alone. It is built into everything that comes before it.

03 / FROM SEATTLE TO CHARLOTTE

SEATTLE INSPIRED THE ARCHITECTURE. CHARLOTTE REVEALED THE OPPORTUNITY.

Living in Seattle, Viktor was surrounded by a greater variety of modern and contemporary homes.

He was drawn to their natural light, clean lines, thoughtful proportions, and strong connection between indoor and outdoor living. More importantly, he was drawn to the way those homes felt, calm, purposeful, and designed around modern life.

It was the kind of home he had always imagined building for himself.

After moving to Charlotte, he saw that modern and contemporary architecture was still underrepresented, even as more homeowners were beginning to look for something different.

They wanted cleaner architecture, larger openings, more natural light, and spaces that reflected the way they actually lived.

Marcello Homes began building with that client in mind.

When the company's first modern home began taking shape, the response confirmed what Viktor believed. People noticed it. They asked about it. Conversations started, and some of those conversations became the projects Marcello Homes is building today.

SOMETIMES THE CLEAREST ANSWER IS A HOME PEOPLE CANNOT STOP TALKING ABOUT.

04 / A DIFFERENT WAY TO BUILD

A SYSTEMS MINDSET CHANGED THE WAY WE BUILD.

Viktor's approach to construction was shaped by more than hands-on building experience.

Alongside construction, he spent many years working in technology in Seattle, helping major companies improve quality across complex systems. That work required understanding how systems interact, questioning assumptions, identifying problems early, and resolving issues before they became more difficult and expensive to correct.

The same thinking applies to a custom home.

Architecture, structure, interiors, lighting, building performance, materials, and construction all influence one another. The earlier those relationships are understood, the more clearly the project can move forward.

That perspective shaped Marcello Homes around early planning and coordinated decisions, with more attention given to how one choice affects the rest of the project.

It also led us to work with architectural, engineering, design, and building-performance professionals who share that approach, including our design partnership with AVI Design Studio.

05 / OUR ARCHITECTURAL FOCUS

MODERN ARCHITECTURE BECAME OUR FOCUS FOR A REASON.

Our focus on modern and contemporary architecture is intentional.

The appeal of modern architecture is often its restraint, clean lines, larger openings, and fewer visual distractions.

That apparent simplicity takes discipline.

Clean lines leave little room for unresolved details. Large openings and minimal transitions require careful coordination and precise execution.

By focusing on modern and contemporary homes, we continue developing the knowledge, relationships, construction methods, and craftsmanship this architecture demands.

For us, this focus is not simply about aesthetic preference. It is about developing deeper knowledge of the architecture we have chosen to build.

THE NARROWER THE FOCUS,
THE DEEPER THE UNDERSTANDING.

06 / THE COMPANY WE ARE BUILDING

WE WOULD RATHER BUILD FEWER HOMES WITH GREATER INTENTION.

Marcello Homes is not being built around volume.

That means working with professionals and trade partners who understand the demands of modern architecture, continuing to refine our standards from project to project, and keeping leadership connected to the work as the company grows.

01

REMAINING SELECTIVE

We choose to remain selective so we can stay close to the decisions that shape each home and give the work the attention it requires.

02

TRUSTED PARTNERS

Working with professionals and trade partners who understand the demands of modern architecture, so every discipline is prepared for the level of coordination the work requires.

03

REFINING OUR STANDARDS

Continuing to refine our standards from project to project, so what we learn on one home makes the next one better.

04

LEADERSHIP CLOSE TO THE WORK

Keeping leadership connected to the work as the company grows.

A custom home represents years of imagining, significant investment, and decisions that will shape how a family lives for years to come.

We do not want that responsibility to become routine.

GROWTH MATTERS.
STAYING CLOSE TO THE WORK MATTERS MORE.

07 / WHAT GUIDES OUR WORK

EVERY PROJECT IS DIFFERENT. THE PRINCIPLES REMAIN THE SAME.

The homes may be different, but the standards behind our decisions remain consistent.

01
THOUGHTFUL PLANNING
Strong projects begin with understanding. We work to resolve important questions early and bring the right people into the conversation at the right time.
02
PROTECTING THE VISION
Our role is to understand what the architecture is trying to achieve and carry that intent through construction.
03
DISCIPLINED EXECUTION
Modern architecture makes craftsmanship visible. Alignments, transitions, proportions, materials, and concealed systems all require precision.
04
HONEST COMMUNICATION
Clients should understand where their project stands, what decisions are ahead, and how challenges are being addressed.
05
LONG-TERM THINKING
A home should serve the family well long after move-in. Comfort, durability, performance, maintainability, and the relationship we build with the client all matter.

GOOD DECISIONS EARLY.
CAREFUL EXECUTION THROUGHOUT.
